ESTe2M Program

The ESTe2M Program

ESTe2M at C.W. Jefferys C.I.: or the Enriched Science Technology, Engineering, Equity and Mathematics Certificate Program is a specialized program unique to C.W. Jefferys. The ESTe2M program is ideal for students who love Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) and provides opportunities for students to investigate and expand their passion for STEM. Our program integrates STEM across subject areas and explores social justice issues within the STEM context.

ESTe2M at C.W. Jefferys aims to:

    • Engender passionate budding scientists
    • Shape well rounded thinkers with a social justice lens
    • Explore science through an anti-oppression framework
    • Decolonize traditional science knowledge and explore different ways of knowing
    • Develop 21st century skills including leadership, critical thinking, collaboration, communication, digital literacy and problem solving skills.

To achieve an ESTe2M certificate students must complete 10 courses over their 4 years of high school as outlined in the table below.  Of these ten courses, ESTe2M students will be grouped together, or cohorted, for five of their classes.

Upon completion of the program requirements, students will receive an ESTe2M certificate to complement their OSSD.
