Dear Northern Families,
Docudramas were a hit this week in the drama studio. Thank you to all the students who participated and to everyone who attended the shows. This coming week marks the end of the first half of the year and is of obvious significance academically. Teachers will be tabulating progress this week for report cards that are issued February 6th. There is still half a year of school PLUS exams/ culminating activities…in other words, with a plan and hard work academic goals are all still in reach.
As a look ahead, we have two early closes in the calendar for early February. Unless there is progress in the collective bargaining process these will be cancelled and become full school days. The second closure (February 12th @ 12pm) is usually our parent-teacher interview afternoon. Again, unless there is progress at the bargaining table this afternoon session will be cancelled and only the evening will be available for interviews. With this in mind we ask that you make careful decisions about what teachers you need to see to allow families with urgent need to see teachers a timeslot. More details will be available next week on the sign up process.
Please see a letter from the board here regarding the Corona Virus. This has been drafted by the board in response to increasing inquiries.
