Exams are under way! The vast majority of students will be finishing up next week so please remember to return you textbooks, library books, and make sure your locker is empty. Another week of hard work an you can put your feet up with pride for summer break.

Final Reminder: Please ask your student if they have completed the Student Census Survey for the TDSB. Please encourage your student to look in their TDSB email for a message about the survey and ask them to complete it. Thank You!
Semester 2 Final Exams: Please find HERE the Semester 2 Final Exam Schedule (updated). You will note the adjustments from the TDSB’s original exam schedule in order to accommodate the necessary shift of commencement to June 27th (at 1pm).

Yearbook Distribution:
Monday June 26, 2023- 10:30 – 2:30 in the auditorium Grade 12
Wednesday June 28, 2023- 10:30 – 2:30 in the auditorium Grades 9, 10 and 11
Yearbooks will be distributed to the student and/or parent/guardian. We will not be able to distribute to friends.
In the event students are unable to pick up their yearbooks in the scheduled dates and times, they may come in July 4 – 14 between 9:30 – 2:30 to see Ms. Trotto in the Principal’s office.

Instagram Awareness for Students, Families, and Staff:
Instagram is a popular social media app used by teens and adults alike. Many parents/caregivers want to learn more about how they can support their children to use Instagram safely and productively. Join this dynamic online Zoom event to hear from experts working in the field of social media, and enthusiastic student interns. These experts equip attendees with the essential knowledge to safeguard people on Instagram from online hate, become better digital citizens, and also reveal how teens can leverage Instagram to acquire new skills and to appeal to post-secondary admissions teams and future employers. Learn how to support online time into productive growth. This free online session will help you optimize the use of Instagram for your child's benefit. Session details on this FLYER .
Special Education - Exams
Students are encouraged to check their student email to confirm the location of their final exams. Student's writing in a computer lab should report to the Library 10-15 minutes prior to their exam to account for the login process.
ASD Skills Development:
Summer session of the ASD Skills Development Leisure Program will run from July 5-July 19, 2023 at 13 sites across the TDSB. The program is available to students going into Grades 4 -10 who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
The goal of the program is for participants to develop social skills, self-regulation strategies and skills on how to best prepare to transition to a new grade, class, and/or school.
Students enrolled in our program will have the opportunity to work with their teachers to develop and enhance their social skills and develop cooperation skills by playing and interacting with other participants as they engage in a variety of intentionally chosen leisure activities.
The Program Information Letter includes the link for registration to families of students going into Grades 4-10 with ASD in TDSB schools. Transportation is not provided.
The registration period will remain open until Friday, June 16, 2023.

- Guidance is working hard to resolve 2023-2024 timetable conflicts.
Our priority is to meet with students who have conflicts at this time.
We will reach out to students directly to set up appointments.
Please be sure to attend any Guidance meeting that is requested via your student email.
Please note: If you are booked for a meeting during an evaluation, do not miss your evaluation and let your Guidance counsellor know that you need to be rebooked.

NSS Course Change Policy states: timetable changes are not being considered unless a student is eligible to drop a course (straight drop), needs to add a course that is a post-secondary pre-requisite or if a student fails a course.

- BFCN Scholarship
We are happy to announce that the 2023-2024 BFCN Scholarships & Awards application process is now live! All online applications and supporting documents must be submitted by July 31, 2023. This year BFCN will be awarding six (6) $1000 scholarships and awards. We will be once again awarding two scholarships to Black students pursuing graduate studies in addition to Black students pursuing undergraduate studies at accredited Canadian institutions.

- Summer U of T Programming: Registration is now open for youth summer programs from the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering. Returning this year will be the Da Vinci Engineering Enrichment Program (DEEP) for high school students and Jr. DEEP for elementary school students. The programming also includes two streams of coding workshops and CREATE, designed for highly committed and motivated students who have an interest in problem-solving and global issues.
Daniels Design Discovery provides a comprehensive introduction to the
discipline of architecture, giving you the opportunity to experience different
ways of seeing, thinking, and making through the lens of design.
The program will develop your skills in a broad range of design tools and
techniques, providing a strong foundation to explore your creative potential.

Nurturing Black Student Excellence in Education (NBSE) is an initiative developed by the Department of Management at the University of Toronto Scarborough in consultation with Black U of T administrators (The Private Space Group) to introduce Black-identified high school students to the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program and to demonstrate pathways for personal and career development through inclusive higher education communities.
- Date: July 11 and 12 , 2023
- Time: 12 – 5 pm
- Registration is free but space is limited. Registration dates: REGISTER TODAY!
- Opting-Out of the e-Learning Graduation Requirement
Students may withdraw from the online e-Learning requirement. A parent/caregiver/guardian or student (18 years of age or older or 16 or 17 years of age and withdrawn from parental control) may withdraw by submitting the TDSB Opt Out/Withdrawal Form to their school. No explanation or reason is needed to opt out/withdraw.
If you are not ready to make a decision with regard to participating in e-Learning, there will be future opportunities to participate in e-Learning courses or withdraw from the graduation requirement. A final decision is not required at this time.
If you have decided now to withdraw from the graduation requirement, please complete the TDSB Opt Out/Withdrawal Form.
