Good Afternoon Northern Families,
This Bulletin is arriving to most when summer has already started. Congratulations on a fantastic year! For anyone that is coming in Monday and/ or Wednesday (by invitation only!) for Credit Rescue, you are almost there- really give it everything ahead of report card distribution. There will be an additional email sent the week of July 4th that will wrap up the year and provide some information for the fall. I will keep tonight’s bulletin brief as there is limited information to pass along. For anyone already on break have a healthy and safe summer!

Outstanding Textbooks & Library Textbooks:
All students are being asked to return any and all textbooks and library books to their teachers during the Exam Review days Monday June 26 (grade 12) and Wednesday June 28 (grades 9, 10 and 11). In the event they are not returned during these days Ms. Benjamin in the Vice-Principal’s office will accept them July 4 – 14 between 9:30 – 2:30.
Yearbook Distribution:
Monday June 26, 2023- 10:30 – 2:30 in the auditorium Grade 12
Wednesday June 28, 2023- 10:30 – 2:30 in the auditorium Grades 9, 10 and 11
Yearbooks will be distributed to the student and/or parent/guardian. We will not be able to distribute to friends.
In the event students are unable to pick up their yearbooks in the scheduled dates and times, they may come in July 4 – 14 between 9:30 – 2:30 to see Ms. Trotto in the Principal’s office.
Business/ DECA:
Interested in learning more about the world of business? Join Northern's DECA club next year! Learn about entrepreneurship, marketing, personal and corporate finance, hospitality and tourism, and more! Become an expert presenter and improve your teamwork and analytical skills. As your “Alumni Association”, we’re keen to hear your ideas about ways that the NSS Foundation could facilitate alumni staying connected — we’re asking for your input. Guidance Updates:
- Guidance is working hard to resolve 2023-2024 timetable conflicts.
Our priority is to meet with students who have conflicts at this time.
We will reach out to students directly to set up appointments.
Please be sure to attend any Guidance meeting that is requested via your student email.
Please note:
NSS Course Change Policy states: timetable changes are not being considered unless a student is eligible to drop a course (straight drop), needs to add a course that is a post-secondary pre-requisite or if a student fails a course.
Not all courses are available.

- Opting-Out of the e-Learning Graduation Requirement
Students may withdraw from the online e-Learning requirement. A parent/caregiver/guardian or student (18 years of age or older or 16 or 17 years of age and withdrawn from parental control) may withdraw by submitting the TDSB Opt Out/Withdrawal Form to their school. No explanation or reason is needed to opt out/withdraw.
If you are not ready to make a decision with regard to participating in e-Learning, there will be future opportunities to participate in e-Learning courses or withdraw from the graduation requirement. A final decision is not required at this time.
If you have decided now to withdraw from the graduation requirement, please complete the TDSB Opt Out/Withdrawal Form.
