New Features in School Messenger:

To enhance our existing absence reporting procedure, we have added New Features to report the student’s absence.

1. Parents/Guardians can now use Safe Arrival platforms (Toll free number, mobile app or website) to add student’s Early Departure and Leave and Return in addition to Full Day and Late. These new options will allow parents to choose various reasons (Appointments, Illness, Family responsibility, weather, other reasons) when reporting.

2. Slept In is now available as one of the reasons for reporting late.

3. For Security reasons we recommend parents/ guardians to set up a 4-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN).

Parents/Guardians will be required to enter the same PIN number before absences can be reported or explained for their student(s) using the SafeArrival phone system.

The PIN will not be required when reporting using the app or the website as these access options are protected by passwords created by parents.

PIN settings can be updated by parents from the SchoolMessenger app OR on the website.

Please share the updated Manual - SchoolMessenger App - Step by Step Guide for Parents/Guardians.

  2. TDSB In-Person/Remote Continuing Education Summer School information here. Registration for TDSB In-Person/Remote Summer OPENS Friday April 19, 2024.
  3. OUAC Updates: June 3rd & Offers of Admission
Students must accept offers by that date. OUAC recommends watching their video link for how to accept an offer. We've posted the video below so please watch it - it's only 3 min.https://youtu.be/vN34g9lgTxY

Students often make a mistake and do not finalize/submit their offer properly.
Students that have accepted an offer for one school can override by accepting another offer after. However, this may invalidate the original offer of admission and the student would have to reach out to the first school if they change their mind again and wish to go back to the first offer.
To OUAC’s knowledge, students should still continue to receive offers of admission even if they have already accepted an offer elsewhere (and they can still accept later offers to override according to the presentation - see video).
Students must reach out to institutions if they are planning on taking a summer course or repeating a course in the summer to clarify conditions of their offers. In many cases, universities won’t accept a course taken after June 30th unless the admissions team approves this.
