Special restrictions have been put in place to control the enrolment of Riverdale CI to ensure the school population does not greatly exceed the capacity of the building.

Riverdale CI. is a closed school that only accepts students in regular program who are going from Grade 8 to 9 and live in the catchment area for the school. Students must apply by March 1 of their Grade 8 year to be eligible for admittance. Riverdale C.I. does not admit students after this date.

Students living within the Riverdale CI catchment area who opt to attend another school (examples below) will not be eligible to attend Riverdale CI should they leave these other schools/programs. Further, students that attend Riverdale CI that opt to move to another school (examples below) will not be eligible to return to Riverdale CI in the future. Students will be redirected to Danforth Collegiate and Technical Institute.
