Dear Riverdalian:

I trust that this school year has been both productive and enjoyable and that you have many happy memories on which to look back.

Please read the following information regarding Opening Day Procedures for September 2019 very carefully:

1. Student Activity Fees

This year’s fees are $25.00 for the Yearbook and $30.00 to support extra-curricular activities OR a combined single fee of $55.00. All school related fees may be paid online via our SchoolCashOnline system. Please see the instructions on how to register and pay fees on the reverse.  If you are unable to pay online, please bring cash or a cheque to Timetable Pick-Up on August 28^th.  Cheques may be made payable to Riverdale C.I.

2. Timetable Pick-up
   Head Start to High School (Moving On Up) - Thursday, August 29th from 8:45 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.  
   A Riverdale tradition! Gr. 9 students will participate in a rotation of fun activities to get to know the school and their new classmates. Students will also receive their timetable, information package and can pay their activity fees. Lunch is provided for students (vegetarian and halal options available) and will be served at 1:00 p.m. Students will be dismissed following lunch. No registration needed – simply show up on the day of the event!

On Wednesday, August 28^th, Grade 10 to 12 students may pick-up their timetable and information package at the following times:

• • Grade 10s – 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
  • Grade 11s –10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
  • Grade 12s – 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

3. First Day of Classes

On Tuesday, September 3^rd, Grade 9 students only should arrive at school at 9:15 a.m. to find their Home Form class. Home Form classes will run from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at which point students will be dismissed for the day. If you did not attend Head Start to High School on August 29th please arrive between 8:30 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. to pick up you timetable before classes begin.

Grade 10 to 12 students will report to their Home Form class at 11:30 a.m. Classes will run from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at which point students will be dismissed for the day. If you were unable to pick-up your timetable and information package on August 28^th, please arrive between 10:15 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.

4. Lastly, our first PLC late start day will be on Wednesday, September 11^th, 2019 – future dates will be listed on our website and school calendar. Please note that beginning this school year we will no longer have Sustained Silent Reading (SSR) as part of our daily schedule.
