Elementary Sports 2022-23

This year at Rolph Road Elementary we are continuing our policy where students will be eligible to participate in a variety of sports.

Philosophy of Rolph Road Teams:

Rolph Road Elementary supports the idea of developing an appreciation and passion for competitive team sports that will continue beyond the Rolph Road experience.  The team experience is intended to foster self-esteem, sportsmanship, leadership and athletic skill.

 

CROSS COUNTRY RUNNING IS BACK for 2023!

Does your child want to be part of Rolph Road's biggest team? An opportunity to be on the team is offered to all students in Grades 1-6.Everyone can join this team! While we are still waiting to hear from the

download (2)638305680119595377TDSB on what the season will look like, we wanted to get the ball rolling at Rolph. Here's what you need to know so far about Cross Country Practices.

When: Part of Health and Physical Education class as well as on: 

- Tuesday (Lunch) 12:00 – 12:30 

- Wednesday (After School) 3:15 – 4:00 

- Thursday (Lunch) 12:00 – 12:30 

**PLEASE NOTE THAT PRACTICES ARE CANCELLED IF IT IS RAINING.**

Who: All students in grades 1-6 can choose to participate. 

Where: Runners will meet in the Sports Court at the back of the Rolph field. 

What: Students will train together with grades to run the following distances. 

Grades 1 & 2: 1 km (3 laps) Grade 3: 1.5 km (4 laps) Grades 4-6: 2 km (6 laps)

Jr. Girls + Boys Intramural Soccer Starting Week of Sept. 18th!  

Junior Girls + Boys Soccer Tryouts and Team practices ares starting the week of September 19tth at Rolph Road.

stock-photo-soccer-player-standing-with-soccer-ballCoach Miha will meet the Junior Girls Soccer Team on Mondays and Wednesdays, at lunch (11:45-12:25) on the field. All students in Grades 4 to 6 are welcome at tryouts.

Coach Miha will meet the Junior Boys Soccer Team on Tuesdays and Fridays, at lunch (11:45-12:25) on the field. All students in Grades 4 to 6 are welcome at tryouts.

Both teams are welcome to eat their lunch outside at the blue tables from 11:30 to 11:45, beside the White Diamond. Thank you to Coach Miha for supervising team lunches before tryouts and practises.
