Camp Tamarack

The goal of the camp experience is to provide a welcoming atmosphere for incoming Grade 9 students, in the idyllic setting of Muskoka. Activity sessions include campfires, rock-wall climbing, hiking, camp crafts and much more. Past participants at camp report having made lifelong friends, and truly experiencing a sense of belonging to the Victoria Park community.

Staff supervisors are teachers representing all departments at the school. It is a great way to get to know them outside of the classroom setting.

Students attending camp are NOT penalized for attending. Ample opportunitites are made to catch up on missed work. This applies to ALL students attending.

Students on the organizing committee are interviewed for the positions of Camp Directors, Activity Leaders, and District Leaders. With the Staff advisors, residential camp staff and the Principal, the Executive Organizing Committee organize the theme and activites of the trip. It is not necessary for the organizing committee to have attended camp in a previous year.
