2017 - Year of the Rooster!
By Kesiha
The Chinese Lunar New Year is celebrated by people of Chinese descent all over the world. It is a time for families to be together and celebrate the festival. Most celebrations include fireworks, the giving of red envelopes of lucky money, and the hanging of red lanterns and decorations. The New Year’s Eve dinner is called the “reunion dinner” and is believed to be the most important meal of the year. Here at Banting and Best, because many of our students celebrate Chinese New Year, the school was decorated with art projects created by our students. If you celebrate Chinese New Year, we wish you Gong Xi Fa Cai or Gong Hey Fat Choy!
Good luck to everyone for 2017 - The Year of the Rooster!
