Guidance and Special Education

The Guidance and Special Education offices are located beside the Main Office at NACI. We currently have 3 guidance counsellors who can provide support to you, depending on your needs. 

Logging in to the Guidance Interview website

Follow the steps below to log in, register, and create an account : 

  1. Go to the NACI Guidance Interview website or click the image to the right ! 
  2. Enter your TDSB Student Number. Your password is your Date of Birth (YYYY-MM-DD).
  3. Click "Sign In". 
  4. You can then change your password by selecting "My Account". 
  5. Enter and confirm your new password. 
  6. Click "Change Password". 
  7. You can also add your email and cell phone number to your account. 

Booking an Appointment with your Guidance Counsellor

Follow the steps below to book an appointment with your guidance counsellor : 

  1. Click on "Request Appointment" (located at the top of the page).
  2. From the drop-down list, select the reason as to why you are booking the appointment. 
  3. Select your Guidance Counsellor from the list.
  4. You can leave a Note to Guidance Counsellor in the box. This will help your guidance counsellor prepare for your appointment. 
  5. Click on "View Appointments". 
  6. Find a date and time that you can attend. Please note, you cannot book an appointment at the same time as an evaluation (i.e. test, quiz, presentation) in class. 
  7. Click "Book" to schedule and confirm your appointment.

* Please note, if you cannot attend any of the appointments available OR there are no appointments available, select "Request Alternative Appointment Date" and your Guidance Counsellor will be in touch with you !

Community Involvement (Volunteer) Hours

What are Community Involvement (Volunteer) Hours ?

Community involvement (volunteer hours) for high school students. All high school students (Grades 9-12) in the province of Ontario are required to complete 40 hours of community service as a graduation requirement.

Where can I Find Community Involvement Opportunities ?

Students can volunteer at a variety of community organizations and activities. Please ensure that the opportunity meets the TDSB's eligibility criteria (which can be found in the document below).

How do I Record my Community Involvement (Volunteer) Hours ?

Students must record their hours of community involvement on the Community Involvement Hours Record Form and have the volunteer supervisor sign for the hours completed. Students must then hand in completed forms to the Guidance office at NACI.

As soon as students complete all or part of the required 40 hours, they are encouraged to return the completed form to the Guidance office in order to have the volunteer hours recorded and updated on their transcript. Students may also attach signed letters verifying their completion of volunteer activities to their Record of Community Involvement form. 

*Please note, the Ontario Student Transcript shows only that the community involvement is complete or not complete, it does not indicate the total number of hours above 40 a student completes.

All students are encouraged to complete a minimum of 10 Community Involvement Hours each academic year!
