Communities in Canada: Underground Railroad

Framing Question
How do the efforts of those who were involved with the Underground Railroad contribute to Canadian identity?
Learning Goal
If students have an immersed experience of the challenges that African-American slaves faced fleeing from the American south between 1780 and 1850, then they will have a deeper understanding of what it would have been like at this time in Canadian history so that they can connect and describe the relationships to the land and to each other using social studies inquiry process and the provided differentiated instruction choice chart.
