Welcome!

Our Special Education Department works hard to support all of our students that have an Individual Education Plan (IEP).  We provide a wide range of accommodations to support our students as they progress through high school.  If you have questions about your child's IEP, or you think your child might benefit from the supports of an IEP, please do not hesitate to contact Ms. Bhopalsingh.

Transition Resource Guide

Is your child graduating this year, and attending a college or university?   Then you need to check out the Transition Resources Guide website!

Guide

The Transition Resource Guide was created by the Regional Assessment and Resource Centre. The guide was created to help students that have disabilities access resources at colleges and universities and to ease the transition from secondary to post-secondary school.

The Resources section of the guide provides general information about how students with disabilities are supported while attending a post-secondary institution. The Colleges and Universities sections provide more specific information about Ontario colleges and universities, including contact names and required documents.

If you have a disability, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, a Learning Disability, etc., it is up to you to inform the college or university. By law, George S. Henry Academy is not allowed to share any documents with the post-secondary institution you wish to attend. What we can do is work with you to prepare a package (including your IEP, and IPRC information) that you can deliver to the post-secondary institution you choose to attend. You need to submit this information BEFORE you have to write any type of diagnostic or assessment test if you wish to receive accommodations.
