What does the Student Services Department at G.S.H.A. do?
The mission of the Student Services Department at George S. Henry Academy is to assist students with their academic development and to promote and encourage personal/social development and career development by working collaboratively with students, teachers, parents, and the community.
Our programs and services are designed to help students with timetable issues, course selection, post-secondary planning, financial planning (e.g. Scholarships and OSAP), career exploration, social/emotional support, and settlement issues. If a student, or parent, has a question and are unsure where to find the answer, they should make Student Services their first stop. If we do not know the answer, we can help connect you with the person who does know the answer.
Through the Student Services Office, students and parents can access the support of a variety of professionals including Guidance Counsellors, Settlement Workers (Arabic and Mandarin speaking), a Social Worker, and a School Psychologist. If you would like more information about the services that are available, please ask to meet with a Guidance Counsellor.
