Blended Learning

Blended Learning: Take Your Classroom Digital!

Blended learning is a combination (or blend) of face-to-face and online learning.

TDSB classroom teachers can now create online learning spaces with their face-to-face classes using the same provincial virtual Learning Environment (vLE) that e-Learning teachers and students access.

Desire2Learn (D2L) is the platform for bringing e-Learning Ontario's curriculum content and activities into our bricks-and-mortar schools.

Did you know:

  • Staff can request a blank Brightspace shell to be created, not connected to their current timetabled courses. To request a blank shell and/or access content, please visit the Course Request Form
    • Blank shells could be used for:
      • Connecting with Extra-Curricular groups
      • Providing various resources to student and staff groups
      • EQAO Resources
      • Library Learning Commons
      • Online Staff Rooms/Communication tool
      • Professional Development Resources
