Hillside has availability for the 2026/2027 school year. If you have already booked and are hoping to send additional classes, waitlist requests can be booked through the booking application.  

Hillside Outdoor Education School is located in Scarborough, adjacent to the Rouge Urban National Park, Canada’s largest urban park. This day centre is part of the Toronto District School Board and offers safe, active and enriching learning experiences by immersing students and staff in the urban forest.  All of our program offerings are specifically designed to connect students with the Ontario Curriculum through hands-on, inquiry based learning in the outdoors.

Our programs provide education about the environment, in the environment and for the environment as outlined in the Ministry of Education’s policy framework on environmental education, Acting Today, Shaping Tomorrow. They are designed in collaboration with visiting teachers so that they enhance and strengthen the content that teachers are delivering in their own classrooms.  Following up with activities based on the learning that happened will help consolidate student understanding.
