Primary Grades (1-3)

Grades 1-3: Explore the Outdoors in your GreenspaceIf our program selection does not meet the learning goals of your class, please give us a call and we will work with you to create a customized program to meet the needs of your group. Help us begin this process by including as much detail as you can about how we can support you and your students.

Grades 1 - 3: Art in the Yard: This program is designed to meet curriculum requirements across a number of grades. Using nature as our inspiration, students will explore and learn about the various elements of art, such as line, shape, texture and colour while observing, exploring and investigating the natural environment.

Grade 1: Daily and Seasonal Changes: Students will witness changes occurring in daily and seasonal cycles. Through hands-on experience and inquiry-based activities related to the current season, students will actively engage in their own learning and relate these changes to the human experience.

Grade 1: Living Things in your Schoolyard / Greenspace: Learn about the general characteristics of living things.  You will have the chance to explore and find some in your schoolyard and/or local greenspace.  Discover some of the similarities and differences of particular animals and/or plants.

Grade 2: Animals Adapting in the Community: Students will have the opportunity to discover many adaptations of animals through exploration in nature. What special gifts do the animals have that help them survive in wild places (including your local schoolyard and/or greenspace)?

Grade 3: Plants and Soil in your Neighbourhood: Plants have so much to teach us! Learn all about plants in and around your schoolyard through hands on activities. We will explore how plants are connected to animals, including us.
