Choices: Planning for Grade 9 contains information about course types and the diploma requirements. It also explains other relevant opportunities that will be available throughout high school. The Choices: Secondary Program Guide will help you explore the many programs available in TDSB secondary schools.

Secondary Schools Without A Boundary - 2025/26

Please see this link for the Secondary Schools Without A Boundary (SSWAB) as the TDSB policy changed for 2025/26 school year. Please check with your elementary school for applications to Central Toronto Academy (CTA) and Northern Secondary School (NSS), now with applications through SSWAB vs. direct entry.

Out of Area Admissions

Out of Area Admissions 

If you are interested in attending a school other than your designated school by address, applicants can submit one online application. When applying for Out-of-Area admissions, applicants may include one (1) school choice in their application. Applicants may also include one (1) Secondary School without a Boundary choice in their application.

Transportation is the responsibility of the applicant when attending an Out-of-Area school.

Secondary Key Dates:

Online application form open from January 6 to January 24, 2025 at 4 p.m.

Round 1:

Families to be informed of the status of the application on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 before the end of the day.

Families must confirm acceptance of the offer by Tuesday, February 18 at 4 p.m.

Round 2:

Families to be updated on the status of the application on Wednesday February 19, 2025.

Families must confirm acceptance of the offer by Tuesday, February 25 at 4 p.m.

Final Round:

Families to be updated of the final status of the application on Wednesday February 26, 2025.

Families must confirm acceptance of the offer by Friday, February 28 at 4 p.m.

All waitlists expire at the end of the day on February 26, 2025.
