Applications for the the MST Specialized Program for 2027/28 will be available November 9 and will close November 27 at noon.

The TDSB has created a "beyond8" section that provides Board-wide information about the important transition from Grade 8 to high school. You can also use this to help in your research!

TDSB Central Programming has also created this Information Session slideshow. 

Choices: Planning for Grade 9 contains information about course types and the diploma requirements. It also explains other relevant opportunities that will be available throughout high school. The Choices: Secondary Program Guide will help you explore the many programs available in TDSB secondary schools.

Secondary Schools Without a Boundary (SSWAB) – The legacy technical and commercial boundaries for five TDSB schools have been dissolved to expand access to all students. 

The Secondary Schools without a Boundary are:

• Central Technical School
• Central Toronto Academy
• Danforth Collegiate and Technical Institute
• Western Technical-Commercial School
• Northern Secondary School*

* Students wishing to attend Northern Secondary School who do not live within the Collegiate boundary for that school must apply through this process to attend Northern Secondary School.

The Secondary Out-of-Area Admissions application for September 2027 will open on January 4, 2027 and close at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2027.

SSWAB Admissions Priorities 2027/28

Out-of-Area Admissions (OOA) – Online applications for elementary and secondary Out-of-Area Admissions open on January 4, 2027. This is the process whereby students can apply to attend a school outside of the school designated to serve their home address. Acceptance is subject to space availability and transportation is the responsibility of the applicant. The Secondary application deadline is January 22, 2027 at 4 p.m.  

Jarvis' Out-of Area Admissions status for 2027/28 is Limited. This means that students outside the catchment area may apply for Out-of-Area Admissions. The school may admit students from all of the priorities, as space is available.
