To be considered a fully participating SCAS student you are expected to be in attendance every day and to be on time.  Absences will be excused only with proper medical or legal documentation.  Persistent and unexplained absenteeism is a violation of the schools’ Code of Conduct.

Respectful Verbal Language and Body Language towards Teachers, Administration and Support staff
Teachers, administration and support staff are the authorities in charge of ensuring safety and discipline in the school.  All students are expected to use respectful verbal and body language when communicating with those in authority.  Failure to comply is a violation of the school’s Code of Conduct.

SCAS ID Card
All SCAS students are required to take a picture ID for the current school year.  Students are to have the ID card on their person when in the building.  All staff and teachers have the right to ask students to confirm identification when on school property or involved in a school sponsored activity.  When stopped and asked by staff to identify self, students are to produce the SCAS picture ID immediately.  At the beginning of each Quad, students must produce a valid school ID card to receive any school supplies, including textbooks, timetables or library books.  All borrowed materials must be returned at the end of each quad.  Failure to comply is a violation of the school’s Code of Conduct.

Dress Code
Any clothing or accessory that implies gang association or that promotes profanity or may otherwise be deemed inappropriate by the administration is strictly forbidden.  The administration reserves the right to question the nature of any particular clothing or accessory or headgear.  When questioned, students are expected to comply immediately and cover or remove any questionable clothing or accessory.  Clothing accessories that could compromise a student’s positive identity such as sunglasses, bandanas, etc., should not be worn inside the building.  In general clothes should be appropriate to a casual workplace.  Tops and bottoms must meet.  Failure to comply is a violation of the school’s Code of Conduct.

Use of School Computers and Other Electronic Equipment
When working in the library or computer labs as a class, students are expected to follow the teacher’s instructions and focus on the work as assigned.  Computers are to be used for academic purposes only.  When using the library or labs on personal time, students are to ensure that websites visited and displayed on screen follow the TDSB and SCAS Code of Conduct.  At no time should the screen display inappropriate images, words, or anything that would be deemed inappropriate.  In addition, when playing audio files on the computer or any musical device, students are expected to ensure that the sound is not heard by others.  Failure to comply with the above is a violation of the school’s Code of Conduct.
