PRE-APPRENTICESHIP CARPENTRY

Do you want to become a licensed carpenter and earn credits towards your high school diploma?

This tuition-free program is for you. In 18 weeks you will receive in-school shop training and gain workplace experience performing carpentry projects for TDSB schools. If you achieve 70% or better with excellent attendance you will be accepted to register with the College of Carpenters and Allied Trades (CCAT) and be able to join Local 27 as an apprentice.  The 540 hours of training at SCAS counts towards the apprenticeship.

This program is located at David and Mary Thomson Collegiate Institute, 2740 Lawrence Ave. East (Lawrence and Midland).

You can begin the program in September or February.

All interested students must attend a Carpentry Orientation session at the Scarborough Centre for Alternative Studies.

The next Orientation for the Pre-Apprenticeship Carpentry (FIX-IT) program will be on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 8:45 a.m. at SCAS, 720 Midland Avenue Toronto, ON M1K 4C9.

Please check "How to Register" on this website for details.
