Student Success

A.Y. Jackson is happy to partner with Trinity Theatre to deliver Leadership Training Workshops to select students.

Students have been meeting throughout the year to receive training on peer leadership and peer facilitation skills. In the second semester, the trained students facilitated talking circles in a number of grade 10 classes. The focus of the circles was "How to Survive and Thrive in High School". We congratulate our peer leaders in successfully completing the training program.

Peer tutoring is available at A.Y. Jackson. Students who are looking for a peer tutor can find an application form in Student Services. Students in need of help will then be paired with a trained peer tutor. Students can meet before, during or after school for one on one tutoring sessions.

Mental Health Week will be celebrated at A.Y. Jackson May 13 to 17. Many pro-mental health activities are planned for the whole school.

On Tuesday May 14th we will be a hosting a Mental Health Fair in the main foyer. We have many school-based and community agencies coming to share information. Students will learn where to find help and support and explore ways to promote positive mental health.
