25th Anniversary onMay 14th, 2011 - MEMORIES !!!!!
Kennedy is 25 years old this year and we had a party to celebrate. The big day was Saturday, May 14, 2011. A formal presentation took place at 11:00am in the gym with a bag pipe introduction, special presentations from Michael Delgrande, our city councillor, Jerry Phillips, MPP, Jim Karygiannis MP, Soo Wong, School trustee , Sandy Spyropoulos, the school superintendent for NE 3 FOS, and Jean Kennedy Campbell. Many alumini students, teachers and those who had some connection to Kennedy PS in the past, came and helped us celebrate. There was lots of memorabilia on display and our school hallways were transformed into the years of the past, present, and the future. The whole school was all dressed up for the celebration. The grand finale was a special video presented in the gym done by Leslie Rogers and Christian Borges. It included all students from JK-gr 8 and was a great tribute to our school.
What a night!!!!!! - Grand Opening Extravaganza
On May 13th, Kennedy officially opened our new school edition and welcomed the Kennedy community to join us in our celebration. The fun started at 7:00pm with a Bagpiper escorting our dignitaries into the new gym. The school band followed up with a beautiful version of Oh Canada and then the speeches began. An amazing slide show depicting the daily and weekly progress of the construction took our breath away! It all came to a final conclusion with a ribbon cutting ceremony and then cake for all in attendance. People were then asked to take a leisurely stroll throughout the new addition to admire it s beauty. It was a night to remember! Thanks to Mrs. Leslie for organizing this lovely evening and for putting the DVD of the construction together.
