Mary Shadd Public School is for students in Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8. The designated high school for our area is Lester B. Pearson Collegiate Institute. Please call the Mary Shadd office at 416-396-6450 to make an appointment for registration.

Kindergarten Registration: Registration is ongoing  for the new school year. Starting school is an exciting time of many firsts for your child. At Mary Shadd Public School we work hard to make the transition to school as welcoming as possible and strive to make the Kindergarten experience fun and rewarding.

For the school year 2020-2021, children born in 2016 will attend Junior Kindergarten  and children born in 2015 will attend Senior Kindergarten.

Parents with a child who has special needs is encouraged to make an appointment with the Principal to discuss how we can best support our child's learning needs.

 

You will require documentation to complete the registration. Acceptable documentation includes:
• Your child’s birth certificate, if born in Canada
• Passport or immigration document
• Permanent Resident Card (if applicable)
• Health Card
• Immunization Record
• Custody order with access options (if applicable)

You will also need to provide two pieces of personal identification with your name and address, Home purchase agreement, tenancy agreement, etc. (A Drivers License or Health Card are not acceptable ID).

Parents on work visas or with refugee status may contact the school directly for registration. If you are unsure of your doumentation or International students should contact the Toronto District School Board, Admissions Office at 5050 Yonge Street, 416-395-8109 to obtain a letter of admission to a Toronto District School Board school.
