Parents, caregivers, and community members are encouraged to participate in volunteer activities to support school programs and student success. We always need volunteers to assist with field trips.

All volunteers must complete a Police Reference Check, before they can assist with students in any TDSB location. This includes attending Field Trips. At a minimum, volunteers participating in events or activities at school sites must supply the Board with a Level 2 – CRJMC (Criminal Record Judicial Matters Check). 

How to Access the Online Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC)

• As of September 5, 2023, Toronto residents can complete the Police Record Check application online through Toronto Police Services (TPS).
• Volunteers should first connect with the Main Office before submitting a Police Record Check application.
• Applications are submitted at: Toronto Police Services – Record Checks
• Applicants are required to create a Police Record Check (PRC) Account.
• When applying, use the TDSB Code: 202309TPSOND7EFC
• Cost: $26.72 (payable by Visa, Visa Debit, MasterCard, or American Express)
