Students develop compass and map making skills while working collaboratively to hide treasures around an area of the Mono Cliffs property. Each group creates a hand drawn map to include key concepts such as legend, scale, compass rose as well as compass bearing and distances. Maps are exchanged between groups and students navigate to find another groups’ hidden treasures.
