Program Description:
Students will role-play "Nor'Westers" (grade 7) or "First Nations Trappers" (grades 5 and 6) during the Canadian Fur Trade. In teams they follow trade routes to gather knowledge about food, medicine and technology (and the fur trade for grade 7's). Their knowledge is exchanged for furs, which are traded for goods needed to survive or make their lives easier. The grade 7 program brings the North West Company and Hudson's Bay Company into the simulation.
