Joanne welcomed everyone and introductions were made.
She said it was okay to assign tasks to some members who couldn't come
but had given their permission to do so.

Administration report
Progress Reports
Our first report card has been sent home on November 14, 2011 and teachers are
conducting parent-teacher interviews this week. All parents are encouraged to meet with
their child’s teacher.
School Events
We have had a lovely Remembrance Day assembly on November 11, 2011 with many
classes participating in the assembly. Sunny View raised $182 for the Sunny Brook
Hospital veterans.
ipad PLC
The teachers have been working with students on the ipads and meeting in a professional
learning community during lunch and before school. They have been exploring
communication apps. The creator of My Voice will be coming to do a workshop with
our teachers on Wednesday, Novembe 30, 2011.
Infinity Communication Lab
The communication lab is currently working with 11 students. The staff dedicated to the
lab are at Sunny View 3 days a week. They are looking to increase the staffing in the lab
to 5 days a week.
Odette Foundation
The Odette Foundation has generously donated $20,000 to Sunny View again this year.
The money is used to support student field trips, therapy equipment, student needs and
graduation

Foundation report
Michele was absent. We will get report at next meeting.
Fund raising
Cookie dough sheets have been sent home with kids and given to staff.
Delivery Nov. 30, has been moved 2 days ahead. Joanne and Dale will help
Ijeoma sort orders to distribute.
Holly suggested asking families to send in re-usable bags to transport dough.
This will be put into the newsletter to go home to parents.

Community Grants

Need for preliminary guidelines for spending
Guidelines are needed for the float in office and the money given to summer
camp.
Other Business
Bibs/smocks – Varima(?)- Corvin's mom will get prices
Trish is looking for prices for smocks for adults when feeding.

Dale asked for second instalment of $1000
Dahlia needs life jack with special collar and strap. It may cost around $270.
