Visual Arts @ LCI

Would you like to be the next Leonardo Da Vinci or perhaps Emily Carr? Enrol in one of LCI's Visual Art classes and get to know the artist inside you! We have two huge art studios with professional tools such as printing presses, clay wheels, and even oil paints for senior students. All art students look forward to seeing their work hanging at the Assembly Hall Gallery during our Annual Spring Arts Exhibition. Hundreds of guests attend the openning reception and often purchase student artwork. If you are thinking of a career in the world of art, design, craft, or other artistic field, our teachers will guide you in creating a professional portfolio for applying to college or the workplace.
LCI students are also very lucky to have special guest artists come to their classrooms to teach animation life drawing, and clay building. Our students often get invited to special off-site workshops and exhibitions. You could be chosen to display your art at Sherway Gardens, learn glass blowing at Harbourfront or paint a five-foot tulip to be planted on Royal York Road.

Visual art class focuses on four main areas of creativity, including drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture. We also offer focused ceramics courses in the senior years for those who love to play with mud. If you are curious about how to screen print or always wanted to try making a bowl on the wheel, Visual Art class is for you!
