At TCI, equity and inclusion are very important to us, we create safe spaces for our staff and students. Each member of our school community is treated with dignity and respect regardless of their race, religion, or background. We embrace diversity and recognize significant events that impact our school and society at large, e.g., Indigenous Rights and Anti- Black Racism. Students are encouraged to speak up about equity and social justice issues that are important to them. In their classrooms, students are exposed to rich lessons with an emphasis on inclusivity. Exploratory field trips such as the Equity Field Trip which took students to the Buxton National Historic Site and Museum in Windsor and Point Pelee National Park are extensions of the lessons in which students can learn so much more.
Multicultural celebrations and school assemblies, i.e, Black History, are held throughout the year bringing together all staff and students. Our school motto, We are diverse but unified! is posted in the foyer and greets visitors as they enter our building. TCI is a great place to be!
