Many scholarships are available for students to access throughout the school year. Criteria for these scholarships include academic achievement, leadership, community service, participation in co-curricular activities, and financial need. Information about these scholarships will be announced by Student Services.

Student Services:
The counsellors and secretary of Student Services are available to assist you and your parents regarding your present and/or future educational and career plans. As well, you will find that Thistletown' s Career Resource Centre will be your "launching pad to the future". It will provide you with the opportunity to obtain information (both electronic and print) about the steps to success, educational planning, career exploration and job seeking skills. If you have a matter of concern, Student Services counsellors will listen, help and are able to make referrals to outside agencies.

Resource Centre:
The TCI Resource Centre is a full teaching library. Class, small group, and individual research projects are planned and completed here with the help of the librarian in conjunction with the classroom teacher. In addition to providing quiet areas for study and homework for students, the Resource Centre houses thousands of traditional and electronic resources. We have a computer lab of 30 stations. Internet access is available on all 30 computers. Books may be signed out for a two week period and may be renewed. Books may also be reserved by students. The reference collection is extensive and the vertical file collection has been kept updated. The library is open for most of the school day and teachers are available before the start of the school day and during lunch.

Computer Access:
Need to type up a resume, class project, homework assignment ... or just finish some research for an ISU?  Computer access is available to you as follows: Monday to Friday in the Resource Centre (Library). The procedure is: you must have a valid TCI Student Card, sign in at the main desk, and indicate what you will be working on. No recreational use of the computer labs is permitted.

Students eat a big, free, healthy snack (vegetarian and Halal options available) and then get help with their assignments from teachers and senior TCI students. This wonderful program can accommodate up to 40 students each session on a first come first served basis. Attendance is taken daily so that parents can call the office at any time and ask if their son or daughter has taken advantage of the tutoring service. Once the “After School” tutoring is finished, students may choose to stay for free, supervised recreational activities such as ping pong, cooking, fitness and sports unti15:30 p.m. Registration forms for this amazing program are available in the Guidance Office.
