November is Hindu Heritage Month

Canadians of Hindu faith have greatly contributed to civic life in Canada for decades, and are a vibrant part of the growth and prosperity of Toronto, Ontario and Canada.   November is an opportunity to celebrate the Hindu way of life, examine its impact and contributions to the world culture, and recognize values which promote compassion, tolerance and inclusion - and hey, it is the birthplace of the number zero, without which the binary code in computers could not exist!

Please visit the Heritage/History Month website for TDSB Professional Library Resources, a Power Point presentation on the OM, Quotes (in English and French) that may be used for daily announcements, and a list of prominent Canadian Hindu's.  Link:  http://tdsbweb/_site/ViewItem.asp?siteid=10380&menuid=44861&pageid=37576

School Start Up - Digital Forms

Dear parents/guardians,

We have just been informed that due to a significant production issue with our vendor, Premier Agendas, there will be a delay in the delivery of our school's student planners. This production issue has impacted the delivery of planners across the TDSB and across the province. While we can't confirm exactly when our school will receive our shipment of planners, we have been told by Premier Agendas that all schools will receive their planners by the end of September.

As we await our shipment of planners, attached are electronic versions of the school-specific information contained in the planners, as well as TDSB common pages. The TDSB common pages contain information about the Board’s homework policy, severe weather guidelines, code of online conduct, and more.

Thank you for your understanding as we work through this issue. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Suzana Greenaway

Principal

Parent Testimonial

"I am a mother of two boys who both attended Thistletown Collegiate High School.

My name is Cindy Torrison, I work for a family Ad Specialty Company called Comda Advertising Connections I am currently the Accounting Supervisor with many other titles.

Both my boy’s struggled getting through high school and so did I. I didn’t want them to go through what I did when I was in school as I did not have much support from my parents or my school.  My son’s both received tremendous support from the staff at TCI especially the Guidance Department.

I would kept reminding myself and my boy’s that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and it is just over the horizon and that we will make it there.  I was a very involved parent and I believe that helped my boys keep pushing forward.

All I can say is “stay the course” you will win with TCI, the teachers, guidance department and all staff are there to see that it happens.  It happened for my boys they both have successful careers and have grown up to be upstanding men.

Thank you TCI for your support and caring staff"
