The Peer Tutor Program At Woburn CI

This program really works!! A grade 11 Woburn student arranged for a tutor in Gr11 university/college Math on October. Last year she had 51 in Gr10 academic Math. Her first term mark this year in Gr11 Math is 91!!

There are presently over 100 students participating in Woburn's outstanding Peer Tutor Program. In this program, top senior students tutor fellow students who are having difficulty in one or more of their subjects. It is very easy to sign up for tutoring. The tutor tray (with sign up forms is at the guidance secretary's desk).

If you would like to have a peer tutor:

  1. Come down to guidance and fill in the yellow form.(on this form you indicate the subjects you need help in and the time you are available) The yellow forms are in the middle tray.

If you want to become a tutor:

  1. Complete the blue form. Then simply put the completed forms on the bottom (3rd) tray and a counsellor will arrange a tutor (or tutee) for you and call you down as soon as possible to set up times and go over procedures. The blue forms are on the top tray.
  2. Tutors will be granted community hours for their work at the end of the school year.

Peer tutoring is a great way to help other students improve their grades and obtain community hours at the same time.

* Usually we suggest 2 tutoring sessions a week- these can take place in the morning, at lunch, or after school.

If you wish, you can download either application form, complete it and put it in the bottom tray in The Guidance Office.
