Downsview provides a wealth of supports to provide opportunities where students can work toward reaching their potential.  We support the Ministry's Pathways to Success vision where all students leave secondary school with a clear plan for their initial postsecondary destination, whether in apprenticeship training, college, community living, university, or the workplace, and with confidence in their ability to implement, and revise or adapt, their plan throughout their lives as they and the world around them change.

Downsview supports these initiatives by providing student support in the following areas: educational, emotional/social, and career pathways leading to post-secondary institutions and employment.

Student Supports at Downsview SS are comprised of four main areas: guidance, special education, student success,  and student engagement  

Additional Supports also include:

Nutritional Programs:

• Breakfast club every morning in school cafeteria from 8:00 - 8:45 a.m

• Lunch program on Tuesdays and Thursdays (Reduced cost)

• Newcomers program every Thursday (lunch is provided)

Life Essentials Support:

• Students are supported based on their needs with winter clothing, footwear etc
