Programs at the Toronto Urban Studies Centre are open to all elementary schools in the Toronto District School Board. We remind schools to be mindful of the travel time when selecting a location / outdoor education site.

The Booking Process

The booking process for Outdoor Education has changed!

Principals, or someone they delegate, can book up to their allocated number of trips for their school. The day centre allocation is one trip for every 100 students in your projected numbers for the upcoming year. We are encouraging schools to select Grade 2 and/or 4’s for this opportunity. A school can book at any day centre site (or combination of), however, please do consider travel distance and bussing requirements when deciding which sites/programs to book

Teachers can independently sign up for the waitlist by clicking on the REGISTRATION link below. Sign into the application, click "wait list" and then select "wait list form" from the drop down menu.

Welcome to TUSC!

TUSC has long been an innovator with technology in the classroom, starting with a handful of Apple Macintosh SE computers, to our current IT Lab of Intel iMacs, iPads and Android devices. Our use of technology extends into our greenhouse, and to most of our fieldwork. Our Android devices are used to record field observations and measurements, and for our coding program, Apptastic!, to empower students making their own mobile apps.
